Our Vision
Conrey Entertainment aims to create film, television and theatre of an impeccable quality. Conrey Entertainment (Pty) Ltd is an entertainment production company focused on creating new and exciting work on film, television as well as on stage.
Conrey Entertainment was founded by Henck Conrey and Carla Harris in 2011 because they realised that the South African entertainment market was lacking new work, new faces and new ideas. In a business where ideas are the main currency, our company is unique in that we believe in opening ourselves up to new ideas, both from within our company as well as from outside sources.
The Conrey Entertainment team has over 10 years of experience in the Entertainment industry in television and theatre, respectively. Henck Conrey has worked successfully as an actor since 2009 starting with his role as Robert Reyford in ‘Bay City’ leading up to his most recent role as David Jackson in M-net’s ‘The Wild’. In 2011 Henck began directing Educational Theatre, to great acclaim around South Africa. Carla Harris obtained her BA (Cum Laude) in Drama and Film Studies in 2010 but has been working as a professional actor since the age of 14. She began directing and writing stage productions in 2005 and since then has gone from strength to strength directing over six productions including one premiering at the National Arts Festival at Grahamstown.
“Art is the mirror which reflects ourselves”. Since its inception in 2011 Conrey Entertainment has focused on creating work following this motto. We believe that South Africa is burgeoning with stories that need to be told. Our audiences are looking for something uniquely South African, just like our company. We understand that we have the talent and skills in South Africa to create amazing work which speaks to our audience, spanning across all ethnic groups, to resemble our unique and diverse country. Conrey Entertainment will produce, create and develop productions of the highest caliber aiming not exclusively at South African audiences but also abroad. Conrey Entertainment wants to open up the entertainment industry to a new generation thus breathing fresh life into it.
